Heros by Lionus (2005)

"He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat."

This year's AnthroCon theme is "Heros". While the word 'hero' tends to call to mind those in uniforms or part of some civic organization, it applies equally to those everywhere who stand up for others because it is the right thing to do. Others such as big brothers who will not tolerate the abuse or bullying of little brothers.

The line 'He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat' from Julia Ward Howe's stirring Battle Hymn of the Republic pretty well captures the mood and determination of this particular big brother. He is going to visit some "rightous wraith" on some neighborhood baddies and see that this never happens again.
