Stranded 01 by Lionus (PRE-1996)

After being stranded for six months one's perceptions begin to change.

This cartoon is one is one of the classic "stranded on a desert island" themes that is the staple of daily newspapers. I just thought I carry it to what I consider would a more realistic development. ;)

A pencil drawing where the coloring was done with only three colored pencils (blue, yellow and red) and one regular pencil. Interesting how quickly one learns the different color combinations that can be gotten from only three colored pencils.

This cartoon was one of the three hundred plus that I daily drew up on a 2 1/2" x 4" piece of foolscrap provided by the company I worked for (though not intentionally for that purpose I am sure). Not only was the paper's small size a challenge, but having to come up with something even moderately humorous -every- day, five-days-a-week, week after week without fail was the real challenge that went beyond just drawing. I learned to have a lot more sympathy for syndicated cartoonists.

After a few months, when you are scraping the bottom of your creativity barrel, you begin to put down stuff that reveals a lot more about yourself then you might be comfortable with. Usually you realize your error a day or so later. :)
